Will be out all day and then late into the night. Wonder how hot it gets in central rome at this time of year and does it get quite cool later on?

I know there are loads of sites giving temps for that time of year but I want to know what it is actualy like in the streets and centre not just a temp reading from a weather station IYKWIM .

Like most Mediterranean cities, it doesn't get particularly cool at night during the summer. Rome is notoriously sticky and hot midsummer (up to around 30C) and can be smoggy. (So my mum tells me - Not been myself.) Suspect the evening slight drop in temp will be quite welcome.

Hot/humid/sticky/..the streets/ buildings absorb the heat and you get little breeze especially in the centre. The coolest time is actually early morning IMO. Obviously evening is a bit cooler as no sun. Having said that I think Florence and Venice are worse than Rome in summer !!!

We went one June and it was hot in the evenings too.

Thanks that was what I suspected, I will probably be out baking in the sun all day then still be out until about midnight or later (working). So I will have to plan very carfully what I will wear and take with me for the day. At least access to water will be easy enough.
