Centre Park, Haven, Butlins type place in Europe

I would like to take my son 8 on holiday during the July/August summer break. It would just be the two of us so I am thinking of a holiday place such as Haven etc. I am not a great fan but my son is (like most kids) most happy, when there are other children he can play with. I would ideally like Spain but haven't found much online. Can anyone recommend somewhere? My son likes swimming, adventure playgrounds, biking and anything related to Minecraft. I am on a limited budget but would still like pleasant accommodation and surroundings, hopefully with nearby accessible places to explore

Look at various eurocamp holidays. We stayed in one near rome that was fab, I would imagine the Spanish ones are similar? We booked with sun tokens and it was very affordable

Look for one the Canvas Family active sites. Loads of stuffing going on for kids.

Not Spain but Duinrell in Netherlands was the best holiday to date for the kids. Amazing pool and amusement park on site. They made loads of friends on site and you can hire bikes sand go-carts. Close to the beach if you can tear DC away from the site.

This holiday village has free kids clubs and (at a fee) circus skills/acrobatics courses for children aged 6-8 and 9-12. You can do as many or few kids club sessions as you want but the circus course is 5 days and ends with a performance. The resort also has two large pools, basketball court, football pitch and a couple of play areas if clubs aren't your DS's thing!
There is a beach five minutes away and the holiday village also organised excursions including

  • Day trip to Morocco
  • Fast ferry crossing and a guided tour of the iconic sights of Tangiers.
  • Learn about rearing bulls and horses in the open air, and spend a day with the animals which roam freely through the Andalusian countryside.
  • Selwo Nature Park: tickets on sale for Selwo Aventura, a unique park where nature, adventure and wildlife reign supreme and with more than 2000 animals roaming in semi-liberty.
  • Born to be wild: an eco-tour of Andalucía's white villages or take a boat out to meet the dolphins.

We went to sun tropical island in playa Blanca lanzarote and we described it as butlins in the sun lol. It was a huge site with pedestrianised roads. It had apartment blocks and each block had its own pool (well most did, some had a jacuzzi or park instead) it had two huge domes for evening entertainment. It was a pretty site too with palm trees and gardens etc and rooms were nice etc and price was definitely lower end. We were really impressed and would defo go again.
