What do you do as a family on the weekends

We live in London and have two children. I am feeling like winter has been here forever and looking for things to do with the children on the weekends. We are both from overseas and don't have family here. We do things like going out for lunch, the cinema, park when is dry, museums but I am running out of ideas and feel like our weekends are very quiet. Perhaps is time to move on somewhere warmer. Both kids born here and don't seem to mind but I am getting a bit bored of staying indoors and doing indoors stuff.

How do you spend your weekends?

Over the winter we go to the local swimming pool, bowling lanes, ice skating rink and roller skating rink.
When the weather is nice we do things like crazy golf, hire canoes and bike rides. On a breezy day in we fly a kite.
The London Wildlife Trust runs lots of events for families and children. Last weekend we really enjoyed the hedgehog discovery morning. Other events include making bat boxes, bug hunts, arts and crafts, den building, pond dipping etc...
We've also just discovered disc golf. Like golf but with a frisbee. There are quite a few disc golf courses in and around London. You can just turn up, pay a small fee for a frisbee each and make your way around the course, keeping score!

Get a family and friends railcard and jump on the train to the coast or the South Downs or the Weald of Kent. Lots of lovely villages to explore. There is a snow dome in Hertfordshire. Cycling is free and there are many family friendly trails across London. Geocaching is also good in London.

NT places. Forestry Commission places for walks.
We’ve made the most of this BH weekend by spending it in North Norfolk. We walked on parts of the coastal path, walked along the beach and took a boat trip to see the seals. We also stayed in a 2 bed serviced apartment with access to a nice swimming pool/spa which we all enjoyed. It was one of the best family short breaks we had.

When it's winter time we usually go for ice skating or in a ski park. But when the weather is good me and my family will have a good time in the park having a picnic.

We go cycling, do parkrun, go to museums/art galleries/zoo, go to local events (from now till October there are loads and loads of things on), or go swimming at the lido. We also like going canoeing/SUP boarding (well, ds and dh do and I swim in the lake) now the weather is better.
Even when ds was little, we were never short of things to go and do, and we live in a rural area!
