Fantasy holiday in Greece

Looking for a family summer holiday somewhere in Greece. Luckily have a healthy budget this year.

Requirements are:
Beautiful scenery, near lovely beach
Not too big or busy but lots of activity options for DCs (13 & 10)
Good all inclusive food or nearby dining options
Great service and a touch of luxury

Open minded where we go. Have previously visited Crete, Kos, Ithaca,
Kef, so might be nice to do mainland?

Any recommendations most welcome

Last time we went to Greece, we went to the mainland, the Peloponnese near Koroni, which is south of Kalamata. It was a little beach village.
We stayed at a campsite, which might not suit you but there were plenty of places to rent/stay.
It was amazing. The food was fantastic.
In terms of 'activities' there was fishing, eating, sunbathing, swimming, eating...
Son did go off boat fishing with a German family which was fun.

i am sure you could find something more luxurious...:) I think the village was called Agios Andreas, near Logga/Longa

DullAndOld · 29/03/2018 12:55

...have been all over Greece, Cyclades, Crete, Rhodes, Ionian islands, and I can honestly say that Agios Andreas was the most laid back, tastiest food, friendliest people etc etc

Thank you, will investigate.

Any other hotel/location recommendations from MNers??

We also went to the Peloponnese (Finikounda), which was mainly full of Greek holiday makers and had a lovely beach and good choice of tavernas. Cheaper to book independently, but you can do packages too.
Stoupa is a larger resort with more activities and more Brits.

We’ve been to a resort in Kiotari in Rhodes several times and we always said we wouldn’t visit the same place twice! But it’s beautiful, nice food and lovely people in and out the resort.

The best food in Greece is in the local tavernas, not AI so I would suggest s/c or b&b hotels, which can still be very comfortable. If you want mainland try Parga, it's gorgeous. Sivota, about an hour north of Parga, is also nice but smaller. Both have good hotels if you fancy a touch of luxury.

The Weston at Costa Navarino is fabulous.

Naxos was brilliant it's a great base to go island hopping from.

We went to Parga, mainland.

It was brilliant. We were in a small and friend via Thomas Cook (I think) but was a very good hotel.
