Baby food airport security.

After some help on how to take baby food through security.

I will be flying to Spain from Gatwick with my 7 month old in May. I have no idea how much solids he will be eating by then. So unsure how much I’ll need to take through security

But any advice on how to take baby food through security? As it will be purée is this classed as a liquid? Do I need to take it in a plastic bag? Once the jar is open you need to through it away? Or shall I buy it all airside?? Any help would be great?

There make special allowances for baby food. You can take through what you will need for the flight, but it will need to be taken out if your luggage and scanned. Most larger airports have a family security aisle well geared up for this so aim for that if you can. You can also order stuff to collect airside if you prefer.

You can take however much baby food you need. At that age we took pouches for the journey plus a few bits like rice cakes and breadsticks. Plus bottles of ready made formula. You be asked to take it all out and it goes through a separate screening machine. Be warned though, I had stuff taken off me that wasn’t specifically baby products - rice pudding and yogurt - so perhaps stick with branded baby stuff.

Ah ok perfect so I can leave it all inthe pouches and jars and I don’t need to put it in a plastic clear bag or anything like that!
It’s so hard because I have no idea what and how much he’ll be eating in 7 weeks!

Yeah just in the pouches.

And jars are ok too?

I imagine so but can't be sure as I took pouches and Tupperware
