Where's fabulous in October?

Planning a special trip somewhere in Oct 2019 for a fortnight. Me, DH and two DC who will be 7.5 and 11.

But where to go??

We usually holiday in Europe - summer beach holidays in villas / campsites etc.

I want to do something different - a once in a decade type trip.

I though about Florida (theme parks) which I'm sure kids would love, but I'm not convinced it's the right holiday.

I'd like to go somewhere "wow" and do things that everyone in the family will enjoy (not a traditional beach holiday - so not Maldives type hol)

Anyone got any brilliant suggestions?

At those ages we took ours to South Africa, Kenya, Peru, Dubai and India. We never went to theme parks and mine never asked.

India would be special and South Africa would be great. Kenya could be a bit wet. I think Peru would work. We also did Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands which are very very special. Better than any theme park!

You could also consider Boston and New England. The California coast (San Francisco to LA) would also be great. We have also been to Arizona and Utah in October. There are also great routes in the USA which take in civil war history and they are very interesting. Washington and around there is also wonderful if you like American History.

Have fun planning.

Actually, October might be before the rains in Kenya. Tanzania is good too.

Thanks - that's exactly the answer I was looking for!

My googling last night got me to Peru, Borneo and a very vague "something in North America".

On reflection. I think Borneo is too far - travel times looked to be c24 hours from door to door. Looks amazing though!

Few more places to consider now - thanks!
