Carrying wedding dress on airline

Travelling to France on Ryanair in June to daughter's wedding. I will have full responsibility for the dress. Ryanair's website not too helpful in the department of transporting a wedding dress (surprise, surprise). I've seen wedding dress boxes on ebay but not sure if that would be suitable if wedding dress was thrown around as hold luggage and dress can't be folded small enough to be cabin allowance. Any advice gratefully received.

I would use a courier company to deliver the dress for you rather than leaving this in the hands of Ryanair.

A friend of mine booked her dress a seat on the plane (it was a Vera Wang that cost 000s). It was in a huge box.

I wouldn’t allow the dress to go in the hold. It’s a big risk.

I fit my wedding dress (full skirt and train) into a box which was the right size for carry on luggage, lots of tissue paper in it and it came out looking fairly ok, although it was a fairly crease resistant fabric. I then had someone come out to steam it at our hotel which was perfect as it had been in the dress cover for a week. I would never have relaxed it going in to the hold, it was by my side the whole time!
