River Cruise for 25th Wedding Anniversary?

DH and I are looking for ideas for our wedding anniversary in June - I've found a great cruise going from Cologne to Basel on the Rhine with Riveria travel at a good price but I'm slightly dubious as to the age of the rest of the travellers? I'm in my 40s and DH is in his 50s so we're not spring chickens ourselves but don't want to be stuck on a floating nursing home for a week. Has anyone done one recently??

I have been on a river cruise and a sea cruise. They are very different.
On the river cruise it depends on the destinations for example the Christmas markets cruise attracts all ages.
Usually though the age range is 55+
The river cruise is definately not a floating nursing home. My fellow passengers were good company
I think because of the cost of the river cruise it attracts older people as they can afford it.
The excursions are the whole reason for the cruise you can get off the boat every day not like a sea cruise. I felt on the sea cruise that was I trapped in a gilded cage with moaning older people
Entertainment on the river cruise tends to be cultural with local singers , musicians and dancers. Cooking and other demonstrations.
I really enjoyed myself better than the sea cruise.

Thanks for that. I've never fancied a sea cruise at all, so glad to hear they are very different.
