Is it worth booking a package for a weekend in Cologne?

We are visiting to go to the theatre - DD went 2 years ago and loved it & is insisting DH & I come this time

I did look at travelling by train but it was very expensive!! So I think it'll have to be plane

And I am debating Airbnb vs a hotel

But would a package be better?

Any advise or tips?

It looks like a package might be cheaper.....didn't expect that

Easyjet packages (flight + hotel) always seem very reasonable.

They don't seem to fly to Cologne

Thanks tho

I think I'll use DH's computer when I'm ready to book as it won't have any cookies on it!

Depending on where you live the euro lines coach is also an option. Dh and I traveled to cologne last February for £70 return for two people

Apparently that's lcosing/splitting and it's national express now

Poop! Best I can manage is £90 each which is a bit steep (but less than the £400 by train!!

Hello there,
I live in cologne and never go to the theatre. What are you going to see?

DP and I went two years ago. Booked a a flybe flight and then got the train. Think it was about £150 between us for the flight which included one piece of hold luggage, train was dirt cheap. I can't remember exactly but I'm sure it was less than 20 euros each. The hotel we booked via one of the comparison sites and was less than 100 a night for the two of us.

Is your budget of 90 each just for travel or is that to include accommodation?

ballet revolution it's a Cuban ballet company combining ballet/hiphop/salsa

@efeslight is Dortmund Airport far? do you know how much it would cost to get to the centre of Cologne by train?

You can fly to Düsseldorf and it's about an hour's drive, pretty sure there's a train too.

KatyMac · 30/12/2017 00:12

neither of us would drive abroad so it would have to be train

Where would I look for train prices?
