How much do you reckon a downstairs single storey extension would cost? Anyone had one done recently?

I'm just trying to get a rough idea and I thought it would be useful to ask any mnetters who've had this work done.

We've got a knackered, leaky conservatory. Boiling hot in summer even with the windows and doors open and freeezing in winter even with the radiator on.

I'd love to be able to have it knocked down and replaced with a bricks and mortar extension of a similar size (about 15ft by 12ft.)

We were quoted £10k for our old house if that helps. Porbably about the same size as you've mentioned.

I had garage knocked down, and bathroom extension built and patio doors/roof patched up bits and bobs doen for £15K

Did you realise you were in Travel BTW?

Woops!

Could be a mobile extension?

I shall not reply until you reply to my emails demanding Footle pictures!

How about knocking down the knackered conservatory and putting up lovely new conservatory? That may be cheaper.

Bubble99 · 22/04/2007 20:25

Done!

PanicPants. If I can I'd like to extend our kitchen as well (which we could do if we go for a brick built thing.)

lol!

I only suggested it as we too, have an old knackered conservatory, and I would reallyt like to take out all the glazed area and reshape it and have lovely, brand spanking new one. But hate to think how much it would cost

MarsLady · 22/04/2007 20:28

Thanks for the pictures.....finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but I'm sorry I have no clue so cannot help you anyway!

PanicPants · 22/04/2007 20:30

I suppose the cost would depend on how much you want to spend on the kitchen as well. You could just spend a few thousand or £12.000+ on just the kitchen.
