Adult attractions in London

Significant birthday for DH. We have 24 hours in Central London. Thinking of going for lunch then doing an activity/attraction in the afternoon that we wouldn't/couldn't do with the kids before going for drinks/dinner. Prefer something not too booze fuelled as will spoil the evening. Thinking along the lines of Up at the 02, except I hate heights! A boat trip? I'm stumped! Probably worth mentioning that it will be between Xmas & New Year.

You could go to Zoo Safari, History Museum, Buckingham Palace, Greenwich....Big ben. I could think of these. But there are many.

How about going to a Theatre and watching a drama? I have seen that near Buckingham palace there is one fantastic theatre.

I would get the Thames clipper to Greenwich, have a mooch around the market, stand on meridian line, go to pub possibly maritime museum. Or go up sky garden-not scary even though high and have champagne.

Get tickets for Sky Garden at 20 Fenchurch Street at sunset (just focus on the sunset and don’t look down!) I live in London and it’s one of my favourite things to do with people visiting me. It’s free but there is a lovely bar at the top and sometimes a live band.
