I would be grateful for any tips that you have regarding going to New York with 13 yr old ASD DS.
Are there any initiatives at airports or attractions to avoid queuing? Are there discounted rates for people with disabilities or carers and if so what do you need to show to prove the disability?

I think the new York pass means you go in a different and smaller queue at some places, we didn't get it ourselves though. If you book tickets for statue of liberty online in advance the queue is shorter.
NYC is very busy, noisy, jostling, loud, crowds, queues. It's a great place if you don't mind those things.

Have you Google special assistance at the airport?
