Florence - best activities for kids

Hello - going in October half term with DTs who are five. We have two full days and probably about a half day.

We have my DF with us so definitely need to do the Uffizi and Duomo in some way - any tips appreciated! I want to pre-book so don't know if I book one for first thing Friday and one for first thing Saturday?

Other than that, kid-friendly activities/food tips would be fab!

Thank you.

There's a vintage carousel in Piazza Della Republica and you might appreciate this...www.florencetown.com/161-pizza-gelato-cooking-class.html. Worth noting that children 5 and under are free. The Bertolucci shop is a wooden toy shop and is known as the Pinocchio store because it resembles Gepetto's workshop (and it happens to have a life-size Pinocchio). Your children will appreciate it more if they see the film before going.

Thanks Ricekrispie. Will hunt out the Pinocchio film!

Also a bump for anymore ideas...
