Jamaica or Dominican republic?

Planning next year's holiday for the family. DDS will be 8 and 10.

Dh and I did Dominican many years ago before the kids and lived it but can't decide whether to return there or try Jamaica instead.
Anyone any thoughts ?

Neither I'm afraid.
I'd go to Barbados, antigua, St Lucia, Grenada.
Jamaica and Dominican Republic are of course cheaper but for good reason.

Mexico is a good choice for that type of holiday and if you head to the Mayan Riviera rather than Cancun it's quieter. Lots of activities for the kids and Mayan ruins to see too.

Look at xel-ha in Mexico, your kids would love it for a day out. Dominican is all hotel based, so much to do in Mexico!

Neither. I didn't like Jamaica at all, and the DM is just hotels. What about Thailand or Vietnam or somewhere else in that region.
