I'm trying to convince DH that we should go somewhere for the day since he has a four day weekend.
But where would be nice? We're in Falkirk and don't mind a bit of a drive. though we have an 18mo so nowhere TOO far!!
also we're skint so the cheaper the better!!

Callender is nice, small shops, duck pond, further along the road is Loch Lubnig which is beautiful.

You could go home over the Trossachs and down through Aberfoyle.

Used to be our Sunday outing for many years.

Linlithgow's nice - there are woods, Bee something, where you coud have a picnic.

Castle Campbell near Dollar?

Not had days out in that neck of the woods for a long time. Have you just moved to FAlkirk?

loch lomond - fab. Balloch. I love Mugdock Park near Milngavie.

5 years and you're stuck for a picnic place! A reason against living in Falkirk I think

I like the park in Kinross - take the route to Loch Leven and you'll find the park. Excellent, free picnic area and a view of the castle!

Safari park, Palacerigg country park at Cumbernauld. There's an easter egg hunt at Plean country park. Muiravonside country park, the park at the antonine wall. Go to the beach at Aberdour. There's loads of parks in the Hillfoots area. Gp up to Stirling uni, have a walk round the loch, have a picnic there or go to Clive Ramseys in Bridge of Allan afterwards for tea. The bit round Stirling castle. There's a nice park at Kilsyth.

That''s all I can get off the top of my head at the moment.

Also if you take the road from the back of Denny over to Fintry, you're bound to find somewhere nice to walk and have a picnic.

welll, we ended up going to muiravonside country park. it was great. DS loved running around and looking at all the animals. We only stayed for about an hour 'cause MIL had ot get home but we;ll def go back for a picnic (it wasn't that nice out anyway!) then we came home, had some lunch and took the dog for a long walk to a nearby park. all in all a great day!
thanks everyone for all your suggestions. we have lots of places to go this summer!
