I would be most grateful for any suggestions. Preference would be for B&Bs or gites!
Thanks!

we had to stay in the most awful place on our returnlast year. All I can say is book something - call the tourist board!

Not specific recommendations but you'll find loads of both on www.gites-de-france.com.
St Vaast La Houge on the esat coast of the peninsular just south of Cherbourg is an attractive fishing/oyster farming village.

Thank you all for your replies! At least I have something to work with as I often find websites rather confusing. x

Martianbishop - just wanted to say thank you for the tip. I had a look at her website and the place looks great. Booked it and can't wait to be there!!!

Great! I am so glad. The farm is fab, the rooms are wonderful and the breakfast is excellent. there is also a small kitchenette where you can sort out basic suppers/organise picnic lunches etc.

Odille is so kind.....note she speaks almost no French but that doesn't stop her communicating!

To let you know how fab she is, the second time we visited she hugged us all and exclaimed how beautiful dd was in her glasses....we hadn't seen her for a year!

Place is gorgeous, people are wonderful, and the kids get to collect the eggs that you have for breakfast. She also makes some rather wonderful rose petal jam! Not to be missed.

Just returned from my France trip. You're right, Odile is fab!! She is so friendly and warm. Her breakfasts are what good holidays are made of. Great recommendation.
