I loved the Wynwood Walls street art area. Lots of interesting things to see.

I'd stay on Miami beach if you are just there for a long weekend - at least 18th Street or lower so you are in easy walking distance of the art deco area.

Walking tour of the art deco area if you are interested in architecture. you can do self guided ones with an audio guide - which means that you can wander off and pause it if you see something interesting or want to stop for a drink.

If you are not easily shocked or prudish, the World Erotic Art Museum is both hilarious and interesting - DEFINITELY not for children.

It's a bit of a trek from South Beach but the Venetian Pool in Coral Gables is beautiful if you like swimming. Don't bother if swimming or doesn't interest you though.

Wynwood is interesting (lot of street "graffiti" art on random walls everywhere) but you can get a sense of it very quickly by having a wander.

Massive cocktails (I mean bucket sized) with lunch on South Beach.

You could easily spend the entire long weekend in South Beach itself really.

Little Havana is worth seeing as well.

Coral Gables Pool Hours are currently as follows but these are subject to change:-

September 12, 2017 – October 29, 2017
•Tuesday – Friday: 11:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
•Saturday – Sunday: 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Pool is a spring water based one and is quite lovely. Admittance is $15 per person (do arrive there for opening because they do not let anyone else in when it is at capacity). Use an UBER to travel there.

(Miami airport is a right dump of a place to arrive into; you can walk literally a mile from the plane to Immigration).

Have a look at the Biltmore hotel then too - it's close to the Venetian Pool and has a swimming pool of hugeness. I think you have to stay there to swim but maybe worth checking out.

Yes - this ^. Be prepared for hell on exiting. Long queues and disorganization.

The Thriller speedboat trip is fun, in a cheesy kind of a way. It goes from Bayside Market.

Also from bayside market place you can take a cruise around all the celebrity homes...some gorgeous mansions on the water.

You could catch a game of basketball too (starts late October).

Hubby and I were there in Feb for a long weekend without kids. I was there for work the few days before and stayed at the 1hotel which was amazing but uber trendy and everyone had perky boobs and wandered about in thongs! We moved to the Betsy hotel on ocean drive when hubby arrived and its beautiful, very old school and relaxed, beautiful breakfasts and a roof top pool. There are loads of options to be honest - just depends on what you are looking for.

The weather is beautiful at that time of the year so plenty of beach and pool action. The 1hotel has a great restaurant called Beachcraft which is worth a try (its sister restaurant in NYC is incredible if you are ever there). Osteria del Teatro was also good - old Italian place in south beach.

To be honest, just wandering round, seeing Miami - that's what its about. its an amazing city and I already planning a weekend back there in a few years for my 40!

Enjoy
