Cape Cod - what should we do there?

Got a week in Cape Cod coming up. If you've been please tell me your highlights! Where are good places to swim where you won't get eaten by sharks?!

Kids are more concerned about the size of the boat after Jaws.

Jaws was filmed on Martha's Vineyard. We took a tour of the island in a rickety old school bus and they took us to the beach where most of the filming was done.

We swam in Grew's Pond when we stayed in Falmouth (capecodonline.com/beaches/falmouth/grews-pond/), it was very warm and had a small beach area too. You do need 'stickers' for some of the ponds/beaches but didn't for this one.

As other's have said, Wood's Hole is lovely to wander around. And you can get a passenger ferry from Falmouth to Martha's Vineyard rather than Wood's Hole and we didn't need to book (taking a car requires much more planning!).

We cycled on the Cape Cod Rail Trail from Brewster and it does run as far as Provincetown.

I loved Cape Cod and definitely want to go back.

Brilliant, thanks all. Ha ha Jaws tour, going to suggest that to the family later!

We've just returned from a trip to NYC/Boston/Cape Cod.
Stayed in Hyannis this time, but have been to Falmouth previously. We only had a couple of days in CC this time, but I wouldn't recommend Hyannis - Falmouth was better.
Although we didn't go, we were told that there are a lot of whales to be seen at the moment.
When we went whale watching from Boston previously, the DCs were very sick and we hardly saw anything.

We hang out at Old Silver Beach which is near Falmouth.

Woods Hole is a good visit - to the oceanography centre. Mashpee Commons is good for shopping and eating.

Just an update, we did Cape Cod for 6 nights. 3 nights in Provincetown which was great. Went Whale-watching which was brilliant. saw lots of humpbacks. Cycled through the dunes to Race Point beach and Herring Cove Beach. Saw seals at Race point and I think sharks had been sighted earlier that week!
Provincetown is very colourful and fun.
Then did 3 nights in Falmouth and stopped at South Yarmouth beach on the way. Fished, swam and had a lovely time there.
Falmouth is very different to Provincetown. Did a day trip to Martha's Vineyard and cycled part of the island. Loved it. Not sure I would go back to Falmouth though. Too quiet for us. Wasn't keen on Woods Hole either.
Loved Cape Cod but if we were to go again, I would rent a house for a week somewhere in the middle and have more space with the kids.
