Bavaria in Christmas holidays

Am toying with the idea of 4 or so nights in Bavaria at Christmas time (with dh and children 12 and 14) - maybe visit a Christmas market, neuschwanstein or similar, that sort of thing.

Has anyone done anything similar/ got any recommendations?

Plenty of hotels for all budgets and tastes in the Fuessen area. I like the Hotel Hirsch a lot. I'd avoid Garmisch as it's overpriced and not that nice.
Alternative would be Berchtesgaden which is amazing. Just be aware that most christmas markets in Germany finish the weekend before. Let me know if you need some more advice.
