Beautiful France

I really love exploring rural France, but particularly those villages and towns listed within the 'Villages plus beaux de France' website.

There are hundreds, but I want to head towards 'live' villages and towns (with small craft shops and cafes etc) and not those that are without amenities (I love those too but DD's are less inclined).

Aubetterre-Sur-Drone is one of my fav's but we've been there loads. We Want to start discovering more so all suggestions greatly appreciated!

Rochefort en Terre is half an hour from us and won le plus beau village de France 2016. It's lovely in the summer, but we go every Christmas for the incredible lights. There are more craft shops than you'd ever need Wink
Tourist website is here www.rochefortenterre-tourisme.bzh/ but as above we live not far away and have a gite so happy to answer any questions Smile

I also like Rochefort-en-Terre but my favourite is La Roche-Bernard which is in the same region.

Although I think La Roche Bernard is a "petite cite de charactere" rather than a "plus beau village". It isn't very big though.
