Please tell me about sun cream!

Can anyone point me towards the holy grail of sun creams? One that isn't greasy, sticky, doesn't stain, stays on all day (even with swimming, sand) and doesn't make you look like you're preparing for a cross-channel swim?! Any advice/recommendations very welcome - thank you! ☀️

All day is a lie, no such thing. Remember beauty products are clever with words.

Apply every two hours in med latitudes, dont sunbathe, cover up. Use a sport cream not a beauty product in a teensy weensy ickle tub.

Ultrasun is great. Second PP about you need to reapply, but I did days in the desert (reapplying infrequently) in it and didn't burn. It's also not sticky - my pet hate!

Thanks guys. Funnily enough I vaguely recalled reading about ultrasun on here so was just googling it!

There is a test running for their newest 'all day'. They may not like some of the responses.
I worked abroad and the parents that didnt listen when we warned about all day sunscreen got burnt kids.

I like Piz Buin products, especially their oil-free ranges - absorbs really easily & non-greasy.

I used Boots Soltan factor 50 on holiday & it was greasy, didn't absorb property & we all burned despite using in very carefully.

Get a good 5 star rating cream. no real difference between factor 30'and 50. I like ultrasun but a lot of people on here recommend Aldis.

I have very fair skin and burn VERY easily. I went to Cyprus recently and used p20. It was fantastic. I was in and out of the sea all day and forgot to reapply but it worked really well. I didn't get burnt. I also forgot to apply to my lower left leg (got interrupted by DC) and it was beetroot and v sore but the rest of my was fine.

Calypso dry oil spray is fab.

Thank you! Especially about the stars - I forgot about that!

P20 is excellent, I apply 2, maybe three times if in the sea/ sun from morning to night.
They now do an aerosol version which is great for the kids.

SingaporeSlander · 05/08/2017 12:12

I don't like the texture of P20 as it's very oily. You also have to be careful to let it dry fully before you put clothes on or it will stain.

But, it does protect very well do if that doesn't bother you it's great (I am fussy about how things feel on skin). That said I do think Ultrasun all day is comparable. (Actually randomly used both in same desert environment)

I have very fair skin and hate thick greasy feeling creams. Currently in Italy in a heatwave and using Calypso spray mist F30. Best I have used. Get it cheaper in homebargains www.amazon.co.uk/Calypso-CYCALS30-Clear-Protection-SPF30/dp/B00B5EEOH0?tag=mumsnetforum-21
