Thinking of taking a holiday in October, thought Canaries would be best re weather and shorter flights/no jet lag.

Looking for a quiet resort near a sandy beach, all-inclusive.

We'll be a party of 4, 2 adults and 2 DCs aged 9 and 11.

Tia

I've been searching for the same thing this morning! Friends of mine went to La Palma and liked it. It's a lot quieter than Tenerife etc.
We've not been abroad since we had kids and I'm feeling a bit Shock about how much a week away will cost!

Playa Blanca, Lanzarote

We went to Tenerife last oct. Blooming lovely weather 26 deg. We stayed in a resort called Costa adeje( sp??) was a bit lively thAn we normally go for (& in high season would have been horrendous imo) but our accommodation was up the hill so was totally fine.

We went to Tenerife Costa Adeje in Nov last year, I read that south tenerife is the best bet for warm sunny weather and it was lovely for us.

We stayed in Baobab Suites which was lovely but not AI, though there are restaurants on site. Bit of a walk to the beach as up the hill. Bahia del Duque was right on the beach and looked lovely but pricey! There are a couple of others just west of Duque which would be worth a look, can't remember names but if you look on google maps you'll see them

We stayed in Matagorda, Lanzarote one April. It was very quiet and weather wasn't always great. Lots of overcast days and generally it was windy breezy.

Highly recommend Playa Blanca in Lanzarote. We went in October last year and it was 26-28 degrees every day. One cloudy afternoon that was it.

WE stayed in the flamingo beach holiday village - all inclusive with Thomson, perfect for kids, right on stunnning sandy beach.

Short 20 minute transfer from airport.

Oh and the rooms are all apartments. We had a 2-bedded one with a separate living room as well so plenty of room for me and DH to chill out once the kids were in bed.

Cyprus is also still hot in October btw and a similar flight (4.5 hours) so maybe look there?

Thomson has a posh family Sensatori resort on Cyprus whichever might be nice?
