Newhaven to Dieppe ferry

I've booked this for a forthcoming trip, seemed like a good idea at the time.

Now I'm regretting it as neither DS or I are good travellers and although it would have meant more driving and more cost, I should have booked eurotunnel.

Tell me the crossing is fine and we won't be feeling awful for the full 4 hours!

I was fine on it apart from on the way back after eating some dodgy French sea snail things the night before!

It is a fairly long crossing though so make sure DS has got plenty of age-appropriate entertainment.

It's fine. Only about four hours iirc. We have done it a couple of times departing around 11.00pm ish.

The ferries are quite basic - not much to do. There was one small shop and a food area and bar.

We book a cabin even though it's a short journey aa it is just relaxing to be able to lay down and get some peace a.d quiet.

We did it last weekend. The ferry is very basic. If you have kids take something for them to do. In fact we are due to come back on Saturday and am just going to see if there is a cabin...
