Croatia with a baby

Following my typo filled post of a few minutes ago I thought I would try again.

Our DD will be 13 months in september and we would like to take her to Croatia (or Montenegro). Does anyone have any recommendations for travel companies or sites who have nice traditional villas/apartments in Croatia? We are willing to pay a bit for a really lovely base. Also which areas would you recommend? Any advice welcome.

I would aim for Croatia and maybe go to Montenegro for the day. Its really nice but Croatia is that bit more ahead of things IMO. DUbrovnik is lovely but most accom is in Lapad or Babin Kuk down the road. try www.sipa-apartments.com Sorry cant do links. They are walking distance to Dubrovnik and have parking ..A must in high season. They are fairly modern with great views but not super posh . To visit lovely little coastal beaches, great fish restaurants. Pelesijac peninsula pleasant ( lovely wine) . Korcula is a bit far for a day trip and its a trek to get there but its a nice place to stay.Lovely beach. Important need jelly shoes as beaches are pebbles. No to Orebic its a bit commercial and full of German windsurfers ( nothing against either ) but not my idea of a relaxing place. SImply travel used to go there but not sure now Tapestry went bust and they had lots of nice accom so some operator would have tried to take on their stuff Just not sure who.

Thanks Rosa. Those apartments look nice but I think we want to be somewhere abit more rural - maybe with a beach or pool. Korcula sounds good. I am so sad that Tapestry went out of business as they did great properties. I will check out what Simply have to offer.

There are not that many with pools but beaches are more of an option. Many places are apartments on peoples homes not many 'villa' kind of places similar to Tuscany/ Umbria. A bit more rural on Lopud island there are the Lopudski ( I think thats how its spelt) apartments they have a pool and walk to lovely beach on the other side of the island . It is pretty remote though 4/ 5 ferries a day. If you want to CAT me I might be able to put you intouch with somebody who could suggest somewhere on Korcula. If you dont have CAT let me have your e mail address.

Thanks Rosa. Those Lopud apartments do look nice - a definite possibility. I would love it if you could help me find somewhere on Korcula. I am afraid I do not understnad CAT but my e-mail is [email protected]
