child friendly ryokan in kyoto?

we're off to visit kyoto soon (3 dc's aged 7 - 12) and would like to stay in a child friendly traditional hotel or ryokan.

does anyone have any recommendations?

as traditional as possible, but not so traditional that they glare if we get our kimono wrong

any recommendations greatly appreciated!

any ideas anyone?
