Myself and my DS's will be staying in a villa in Sesmarias in a few weeks. In the past we have had two pairs of eyes on them but now it's just me and I've heard that the sea can be quite rough.

I'm happy to drive to any in the local area but would like to know if there are any that are gently shelving and with less waves (if that even exists!)

Also, if anyone has any recommendations of things to do or places to go in the area it would be very much appreciated.

Praia grande is lovely and the sea is nice and calm, as is alvor. The further up the west coast you go the rougher it gets but it's pretty flat by carvoiero. I come here every year as my parents have a house over here and it's lovely, I hope you enjoy!

Thank you want. How lucky to have parents living in such a beautiful place! Do you drive when you're there? I have a car booked from the airport.

Yeah I do drive over here. The roads are a little windy and narrow but usually very quiet. If you have driven abroad before you should be fine, the locals do drive pretty fast so just keep out of their way on the motorway. Yes so lucky! Here at the moment and the weather is amazing.
