Dickhead boyfriend

Please help. Due to fly to Greece next Friday, however boyfriend can't find his passport ( why he's left it till now to look for it is another matter). Getting a new one is out of the question as there's no guarantee it will arrive in time - so it looks like I will be going by myself. My question is will it cost anything to get him taken off the booking?
I may sound like a callous cow but I've been crying all day at how much of a idiot he is and I'm not prepared to lose a good holiday just cos he's a useless idiot Smile

Hope it turns up.

AmserGwin · 17/06/2017 10:06

Keep looking, it has to be there somewhere! Pull all your furniture out, books off shelves, paperwork, top of wardrobes etc. It can't have disappeared

TyneTeas · 17/06/2017 10:18

While it is probably worth the gamble that the one week lost passport replacement will arrive in time, if you apply for it, it will probably cancel the lost passport. Just worth bearing in mind if the replacement doesn't arrive in time but the lost one turns up, you probably wouldn't be able to use the original one

Good luck

Did he have to take a copy of it? Is it in the printer?

InvisibleKittenAttack · 17/06/2017 12:31

Coat pockets
Bags (including rucksacks and work bags)
With other important documents - car documents?
Inside printer/photocopier
On a windowsill/ fireplace
In the man drawer
Toolbox

Thanks for all the messages and suggestions. Have spent the whole weekend turning the house apart looking for it. He's rang the passport office and even the uk embassy but its not looking good- most likely scenario is his mum coming with me instead - not the romantic getaway I'd planned - but hey ho.

That's a shame but not much you can do. I guess he won't ever do it again Confused.

Have fun with you partners mum. 🌞🌞🌞

Lilyloo456 · 19/06/2017 19:27

Thanks. I'm slowly getting my head around it. Not a lot can be done can there? Tried everything. And just as well I get on well with his mum. To be honest it will be nice to get away from the kids and the house and leave him with all the boring day to day stuff 😆

Getting away from the kids and leaving him to it sounds grand. Are you going to send him lots of wish-you-were-here snaps?

InvisibleKittenAttack · 19/06/2017 20:41

Just a thought, have you checked his car? Also in all the "bag for life" bags you have? I'm always finding random things in those.

TroysMammy · 19/06/2017 20:44

Is it in anything holiday related, suitcase or toilet bag?

Allthebestnamesareused · 19/06/2017 20:52

Suitcases, backpacks, washbags, golf bags(?), sports bags?

Has he had to use it at work/a bank/insurance co for ID purposes? Could it be where you file council tax bills/bank statements if so.

Has he had job interviews? Is it in a folder with this qualification certificates.

Lilyloo456 · 20/06/2017 20:51

Checked his car. Checked my car. Checked all his golf crap.
Last ditch attempt tomorrow at phoning the travel agents to see if we can push back going for a few weeks/ months
