29 weeks pregnant - Morocco an insane idea?

DP and I are desperate for a few days sunshine before arrival of dc2 (grandparents babysitting dd , being our disorganised and busy selves can only get away at 29 weeks. I can get insurance and it's fine to fly plus I have a small bump, I have a stomach of iron and anyway wouldn't eat anything from a street stall etc. Nonetheless is this a mad idea? If so can anyone recommend anywhere else with virtual guaranteed sun in March that's not too far away? Thank you!

Morocco sounds wonderful!

Morocco is great, I didn't go to any beachside destinations while there so not sure what they are like. Only thing I would say is be careful of what you eat, I thought I had an iron stomach too but got quite sick while there.

I went there at 7 or 8 weeks pg. Only concessions I made were bottled water only (and no ice in drinks) and no food from street stalls

I think I was probably 29 weeks when we went to Marrakech. Medically I was fine - can't say I had a great time though. If I was doing it again at that levelof pregnancy I'd go for Canaries for a more relaxing holiday.

Thanks for your advice so far. We're planning to go, sit by a pool and possibly wander round the souk once but it'll only be for three days so nothing adventurous or tiring, the hotels there look much smaller and more appealing than in the canaries. Any more advice appreciated. :0

I really like the look of the riad owned by Richard Branson's sister. TBH I was probably more stressed out by my 3 other kids and the inlaws than by Morocco itself! Have a great time.

I went to Rhodes last August, when I was 28 weeks going out and 30 coming back, as you can imagine we had extremly hot temps (max 42!!)and three other kids. I do not regret going one bit, just keep cool, plenty of water and shade. Have a great time

Personally, I´d bear in mind that M is basically a developing country and as a minimum investigate if there is a western style private clinic near your resort before u go. I stayed in a 5 star resort and was quite poorly with the food - it is not that it is bad necessarily, but that the bugs are different. Maybe discuss with your GP before you go?

oh gosh go and have a great time! marrakech isn't relaxing as such, more of a walk about and see everything type of place. but it'll be great if you combine it with plenty of relaxing by the pool etc. very nice. but then i'm half moroccan. i was born there (in a western style..public..clinic...ahem) and lived there until i was 5 so maybe i'm biased i last went when i was 5 months pregnant. we went to see family in casablanca, then got the train down to marrakech and stayed there for a week.
