dd is in year 6 so last year at primary. Have just received a letter from school saying they have a weekend away with the children from the other feeder primary schools in May.

The problem is they come back on Sunday at 5pm and we have to be at the airport by 2am Monday morning.

I know she will come back filthy and everything will need to be washed as will be stinking otherwise.

dh says she should go as its a great opportunity, I'm not sure although I would love her to go if it was any other weekend.

What do you think?

She has to go.

Make sure you have the washing machine and tumble drier, empty and ready to go.

Let her go. I had to start a new secondary a month after Year 7 had started and it was really hard as friendships had been formed etc.

Have you got a tumble dryer?

I think that she needs to go really.

At least she will be out of the way the weekend before you fly and you can get everything else sorted and packed without her around.

As soon as you get back you can just throuw everything int he wash, and then hang on airer whilst you are away to dry.

yes we have a tumble drier so thats ok, its just the thought of washing and drying everything before me go. I get quite stressed before as I have a really bad flying phobia that becomes almost obsessional in the way things have to be done before i leave

but you have a point about her being out the way all weekend, i would hate for her to miss this
