I have to go there to try some shoe shop which just might have shoes which fit over dd1s enormous new foot splints

but it's an hour and a half away

can I do something else with a 6 yr old and 2 yr old rather than just buying shoes and coming home?

that shoe shop is great - usually I end up in tears in shoe shops after going in about 20 of them and finding nothing that will fit over dd's footsplints. She often ends up in clumpy boy shoes

we got two pairs of shoes, one gorgeous pair of pink embroidered boots, and the woman there knew exactly what she was doing and had obviously a lot of experience of fitting splints

getting shoes is such a simple thing but it is so hard for us so this really made my week

unfortunately dd2 poked her finger in my eye at 8am and it is still watering - so if you saw a woman wandering the town today with one eye closed that was me

couldn't believe it

usually go in 20 shops and try on 20 pairs in each

she got out four; we bought 2
