Cool places in london

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but am wanting to do something different for a friends 30th birthday. No idea what.
Are there any exciting cocktail bars in London that anyone could recommend? Or favourite places for dinner that have good food but the place itself looks different and just not your normal big standard resturant?

La Bodega Negra is great, it's in a row of peep shows and sex shops and has the frontage of a sex shop but you are led down a staircase to the most amazing cellar which is huge and a fab Mexican restaurant not seedy at all!!!
We usually go to the Covent Garden cocktail club first for 2-4-1 cocktails (also a great bar) and then walk.

STK is also very nice for food and more upmarket.
