Grand Serenis Riviera Maya

Has anyone been to this resort in Mexico. If so what are your views on it?
We have just booked this for June and I've read mixed reviews!

I've been, was 7 years ago though.
Loved the food, pool and entertainment (Large amphitheater).
Rooms were a bit dated and I don't think they have changed but my be wrong.
Only thing I didn't like was the very open bar areas in the evening. They were all in the main lobby area I think with huge ceilings - this is just personal preference though
