Car seat for 3 year old when flying?

Does anyone know whether I need to bring a car seat for my 3 year old when flying with Easyjet? Can't find any definitive answers online. Thanks!

To use on the plane? Definitely not. You should be able to take one in the hold for free though - most airlines allow this.

No definitely not. In fact 90% of British car seats wouldn't work on a plane as they need fitted with a 3 point seat belt and you only get a lap belt on a plane.

Are you sure? Under 2's have to use a car seat on the plane if they have their own seat (as opposed to sitting on your lap) so I wondered if there are rules for older children.

Positive. Not least because I flew with my 2 year old last summer without one.

That's good news, thanks for the advice.
