Few days away in the snow??

I have a yearning for the white stuff. Not particularly to ski, mainly for the scenery and the love of snow. Can anyone recommend anywhere that is easily accessible from U.K. for a short break. I would prefer not to fly if possible. Thank you

Well, you should definitely not come and visit me up in Stockholm in that case, it's +9C here today, and the lawns are still green (I saw English daisies in bloom in the garden just now, on December 31, they look a bit sad but still in full bloom). There is snow further up north though... maybe you could check out "Røros" (Norway) or "Funäsdalen" (Sweden)? A bit of flying would be involved though, in both cases over Røros.
