We went to Sidari in 2002; we had a nice time but the resort was very English so avoid if you are looking for more of a Greek experience!

The main beach there is not great, but the are known as Canal d'Amour (about 10 min walk from centre of resort) is lovely. The sea was warm and clear and we had alot of fun hiring pedalos and kayaks.

This was pre kids, but i do remember lots of children being there. There was alot of nightlife - ie drunk young people!

We stayed here:

It was a really nice hotel and the location suited us because it was near Corfu town and we were meeting a friend who worked on a cruise ship that was docking there.

We did a tour of the island and the most beautiful beaches that you imagine from the brochures were here:

We stayed in the Corfu palace hotel which is a very short walk to Corfu town. It was absolutetly wonderful but fairly quiet, and probably not the best for kids, unless they were those very quiet well behaved European ones (mine certainly isn't). Sorry not much use to you, but anything near Corfu town would be good as its a nice bustling place.

We went to Sidari for the day and I didn't like it, it seemed as if it had seen better days.
