Thinking of taking DD and DS in the next few weeks.

Went there about 4 years ago, dd1 would have been 6, dd2 3. We had a great time, we all really enjoyed it.

PandaG · 28/01/2007 14:13

YES ! We love it. Plenty to do for all ages.

theheadgirl · 28/01/2007 14:14

Yes, excellent for about age 10 and under.

blackandwhitecat · 28/01/2007 16:17

Yes, but take a packed lunch and eat it in the stationary train. Kids love that and you save money on the not brilliant cafe food.

Hulababy · 28/01/2007 16:20

Yes, it is excellent fun. How old are your DC?

Cafe food is very standard fare, nothing special. Gets very busy though. Agree that a picnic in the train is fun - although the train isnt that warm so wear coats!

There are free lockers for coats, bags, etc. in Eureka whilst you are in the museum.

No car park of its own. You park int he pay and display next door - but you do have to pay. Can't remember how much but not horrendous!

DD loves the pretend M&S shop best!

LaylaandSethsmum · 28/01/2007 21:19

Thanks everyone, DD is nearly 5 DS is only 14 mths, DD is v interested in the body and how it works and I know theres an exhibit about the body so thought it might be a good day out.
How long do you need to get round it all without rushing too much? Its just we are travelling from Derby so will take and hour and half or so.

LaylaandSethsmum · 28/01/2007 21:55

We go for the day! You could do it in half a day though.

It is in Halifax, West Yorkshire

Hulababy · 28/01/2007 22:01

Much further away from Meadowhall!!! Not in Sheffield at all.

Hulababy · 28/01/2007 22:02

It's fab. Took DS who had just turned 2 and had to spend 40 mins in the M&S shop . The music section is cool too - DH liked that bit

laneydaye · 31/01/2007 14:00

Eureka and magna are a big Yes with our los ds6 and dd2..Would deinately recomend it.

Mae1 · 13/02/2007 12:26

Would stongly recommend AVOIDING the school holidays though. Last time we went it was horrendous - couldn't get on anything / see anything as it was just far too busy.
Outside school hols though & the kids love it!
