Campsites near Rome

That's it really. We have 4 dc, 3 with asd and we are planning a school history trip to Rome.

So can anyone recommend a family friendly campsite (we have a 10 man tent) or a cheap place to stay. Or even any websites I should try. This will be our first venture abroad and I'm not sure where to start and to be honest I'm rather nervous.

I'd be grateful for any pointers. Thank you.

We try to give them as many experiences as possible as I think it helps them

We've had some smashing trips, not all of them stream train related 😂thanks to my son finding something or somewhere on the internet he wanted to.

Sadly though his traveling days are now over due to the deterioration in his mental health and it really has had a huge impact on his life as well as our emotions as a family. We used to love it when just after the Christmas Tree came down he'd start googling but when it got to the stage we had to travel with one of the family plus two of our full time carers, and we still couldn't make it the best experience for him, we had to stop.

Have a great time whatever you decide do to. Smile

"I'm not sure about parking in Rome but it would be something I'd look into."

Don't even consider driving in Rome. The driving is manic and parking is just about non existent. We used the underground and walked a lot.

We went last October and it was packed. Getting through the Vatican was a shuffle because of the crowds. I agree with another poster that visiting Roman sites elsewhere might be a better option. How about the south of France? Pont du Gard, Nimes, Arles, Orange for example.

We went to camp fabulous one may (4dc various ages) and it was fabulous. Took lots of lovely day/eve trips into Rome...really great holiday.

Brilliant thanks again. Ok I will look at other destinations.

Maybe a train journey away so we can do a day in Rome. I'm off to do some more research.

Thank you for the advice I think you've saved me a massive disaster of a trip.

It's a headache trying to do things to fit everyone. Thanks for the advice on driving. Ok off to look at other ideas.
