When we went out scuba diving we went past a place called Butterfly Island (I think that was what it was called) It looked amazing- so unspolit, would have loved to go there, unfortunately I don't think many places will stay unspolit for long.

My mum & dad have just got back from Kathmandu and I was shocked at the photos, couldn't beleive how touristy it looked. The photos of Mt Everst were however, amazing!!!

We stayed at Lykia World which is near Olu Deniz - its a huge resort with 16 plus swimming pools, amazing restaurants and own beach area.

We had the most fantastic time and would highly recommend it.

The blue lagoon is horrible, dirty and busy. The rest of the beach near there is very very steeply shelving into the water, I wouldn't be happy with young children there.

Try Jewel in the Crown travel agents.

It looks so lovely

Lykia World which in Olu Deniz is very good, excellent, but very pricey.

I'd thoroughly recommend Tomsan Villas & Okaliptus apartments in Akyaka. They used to be part of simply travel, but you now book directly with the owner, Muammer Tomsan. We've been there 4 times! Its an hours drive from Dalaman airport, and you can do as litlle or as much self catering as you like, as they serve food by the pool. He can arrnage car hire for you, or can arrange to have you collected. Its very childfriendly too, near some great restaurants as well as the beach which is gently sloping. Check out his website:

side is a place name "sea-day" is how you say it. near antalya really lovely mainly sweedish and scandanivan turist (sp)there
beach is lovely lots of bars, and stuff but so not like bodrum has become !!!!

we went with manoas both times to side and they were brilliant.

Backpacking in Turkey is so easy. Transport links are excellent. Everywhere takes a long time but thats because the distances are so far.

Highly recommend staying at Pammucale (sp?), nt at the hotel used by all the tour groups, but the little opposite side of the road. Very Turkish. The bath was the size of a bathroom!

In Olu Deniz the bread at the Oba Joba guest house was amazing. The pancake place near the beach was pretty good too.
