Do even kids need speedo type cossies for French pools?

Ds is 3. He has a knee length uv protective all in one and some boxer short style trunks. Will these be ok for pool on French campsite or will he need speedos?

Its not so much the need for speedos but the need to have clean trunks - they dont like shorts because they could have been worn all day and collected dust and dirt and then you pop in the pool.

The other problem with shorts is that they have pockets. And tissues in pockets block the filtration very quickly. Knee length cycling type shorts are fine.
