I'm taking the kids on the Eurostar down to Bordeaux and need a car for 2 weeks. Any tips or recommendations? I hate it when they stick all those extra charges on :-)

You can buy the extra insurance separately from independent insurers rather than paying extortionate rates. I've used them and claimed successfully. The hardest bit was getting the right paperwork out of the car hire firm...
