Your recommendations for Canary Island resorts

We are planning on going to the Canaries in October and we are looking for a resort recommendation.

We'd like somewhere quite lively that has good day trips or activities such as zoo's or water parks. BUT that is not full of larger louts and 18-30 holiday makers.

We have already been to Los Cristianous (sp???) in Tenerife and really liked it - the major selling point was that it was near to the big resort and all it's activites (Las Americas) but it was much more spanish and had more of a family feel about the place.

We will be going with dd (7) and ds (1) so we are looking for a real family fun type place.

Can anyone recommend one?

Fuerteventura - a resort called Corralejo which is in the north is excellent. It's got fantastic beaches, quite a small resort but lots of bars and restaurants, and a great market (think it was on a Sunday). I didn't see any lager louts, as far as I'm aware there isn't any nightclubs. When we went it was mostly families with young children and surfers and windsurfer types that stayed there.

Lanzarote - I think all the major resorts are mainly family orientated, again no lager louts here. Mainly couples and families.

Gran Canaria - there's a resort in the north which I can't remember the name of, definitely dont go to Playa Del Ingles though.

Hope this helps.

My PIl love Puerto Rico in Gran Canaria, out of main season. Quieter and def not 18-30's.

Not sure if it would be too OAP though .
