Panic time.. no summer hol booked.. HELP!!!

Don't know what to do... want to get away in August (hahahahahah).. for at least a week... not too far (France/Brittany poss?).. not too expensive (got to be much less than a thousand - or dh says no way)...
2 adults + 2 kids (5+2)near beach... self catering probably....
Anybody just booked anything that still has places???

have you checked out the Canvas Holidays discounts advertised on our v own MN's Home Page? I haven't looked - but we went on Canvas Hol when i was a kid and it was brilliant.

And I've booked things through Lastminute.com before, too.
