Universal LA, Shows in Las Vegas etc

We are doing a California road trip in August/September

What is the cheapest way to get tickets for Universal LA?

Also is it better waiting until we get to Las Vegas to book a show or should we book before hand, something like Cirque du Soluil?

If you have children consider as well their VIP Experience if you can as this will get you escorted access to the front of the line for the rides after the studio tour. It will also save bags of time particularly in the event you only have a day there. Lines of an hour plus in summer time are commonplace.

I booked online for "O" at the Bellagio a couple of months before arriving there and was glad I did; there were hardly any seats for the entire week when I was initially looking. These shows also do not run every day.

What cirque show would you like to see ideally?. There are several in LV with different themes. If you have children Zumanity is out because of content (no under 18s) but their other shows are suitable for children. "Ka" at the MGM Grand has a story to it and I would consider that. Youtube is also worth looking at as there is some Cirque shows content on there.

If they are under 21 years of age they will not be able to drink any alcohol in LV. Also they will not be able to gamble if they are less than 21 years of age.

We went to Vegas and California last summer, bought tickets to see Ka the day if the performance, would highly recommend it, it took our breath away.
We booked Universal before we went, the tickets are valid for a few months.
We also went to Warner Bros studios and a baseball game and booked tickets whilst there.

We wanted to book universal LA but it was going to cost $1000 as wanted front of line tickets and I refuse to pay that for just 1 day! It would still be ridiculous with normal queuing up tickets - am sure it is amazing but the thought of paying a fortune to queue up all day on a hot August Saturday is not v appealing.
