Academic summer schools UK for a 9yr old

I am looking for my 9 year old DD to attend a summer school to help her catch up in English and Maths.. She is a end of Aug birthday and sits at the bottom academically in everything.. I've been told her English is nearly a year behind and her hand writing is appalling.. She is currently in Year 4..

she sounds a bit young for a summer school Op as they generally seem aimed at teenagers in the uk. had you thought about finding a local tutor that she can go to a couple of mornings a week. what the school doing to support her having identified that there is an issue?

she does need some down time from studies and will be turned off if she is working all through the holidays.
