flying with american airlines tomorrow, quick question please

i had planned to do online check in but have come to do it this mroning and its quite difficult. i dont want to get anything wrong.
am i ok to go to the check in desk for check in? am i right in thinking i wont get charged for that?
is online check in just to save time at the airport? we have bags to drop off anyway so would have to wait in a que.

Have used AA before now. Are you leaving from a UK airport?

There is no charge to use a check in desk. AA however, do charge luggage fees for any bags to be checked in to the hold other than the first bag.
