camping in Tiscany/Puglia

Has anyone been camping/mobile home in Italy?

Thinking about maybe driving there this summer as a change from France. But have heard mosquitos are really bad in August? Also how busy do they get? Don't want anything massive but still plenty for DCs to do and places to visit.

Any recommendations?

We stayed in one called Duna Verde a few years ago - not Tuscany or Puglia, it's near Venice so loads to do. The management sprayed the whole site regularly to keep the mozzies in check but no denying they can be a pest. Plug ins and repellant worked fine though.

We've done loads of Italian campsites - I second pp, the sites sprayed in the early hours of each day and we used a plug in and were fine.
