Been looking at Airbnb mainly but open to hotels or cottages villas through other sites? We got beaten to our fav Airbnb one by a matter of hours Sad

We had another option v similar but decided that the other people being around thing carried a lot of weight for us. THe price was a consideration but we thought basic is more memorable!!!

Bambambini, did you make a decision? DH likes the look of PV, especially the price, but is worried it might be a bit TOO basic. Admittedly there are very few photos online to look at, but you can't beat that location and surely all the great reviews on TripAdvisor can't be wrong! I did find a stand alone cottage for not too much more money which looked lovely accommodation wise but it was well out of town with no community, pond etc! DH doesn't like booking stuff too early but I'm worried will be left with nothing if we don't book something soon!

Bambambini · 29/01/2016 09:02

IHate - i feel exact same about PV. It is very cheap which kind of actually works against it. The reviews are fab though. The husband (and kids) is a bit more discerning than me. I've been looking at holiday homes and hotel/ motels and have pooked a hotel which can be cancelled, which is a problem because things can looked all booked out but get cancelled near the date. This happened when we did California a few yrs ago and we felt a bit restricted with what was available, especially in holiday homes.

ihateminecraft · 29/01/2016 10:42

Yeah, it's a risk isn't it? I think I'm right in saying that with PV you have until April to cancel without losing your deposit? I'm tempted to book it but keep looking, not seen anything better so far though (not that we can afford anyway!)

Thethingswedoforlove · 29/01/2016 17:20

I reckon how basic it is will make it more memorable! Can't wait! And no need to pay any kind of deposit if you live outside of USA, we have found.

I don't mind basic so long as it's clean, which I'm sure it is as n9 doubt someone on TripAdvisor would’ve said! Most accommodation on the Cape looks basic/rustic unless you pay a LOT of money. Good to know re the deposit.

I know, have had my eye on a little beachside hut in the Hamptons since 2 years ago - just over m budget A LITTLE.

Thethingswedoforlove · 30/01/2016 16:58

I have already booked Pv but for interest, do you have a link, bambamini?

Hope we can add to the 5* reviews on TripAdvisor!

Thethingswedoforlove · 03/02/2016 22:52

Indeed! What will be our secret sign?

Need to book Boston at some point - looks soooo pricey! Am I better waiting until nearer the time for a better deal?

Thethingswedoforlove · 04/02/2016 18:01

We are staying with friends in Boston so haven't noticed. We have totally paid through nose for ny though. Surely air bnb is an option for Boston that isn't true of ny? I genuinely don't know whether will be cheaper now or later. Tricky

We are also doing NY/Cape Cod/Boston this summer and spending hours looking for accommodation that includes a pool in Cape Cod. I have no clue where are the best places/towns to stay. Hotels and even B&Bs seem v expensive for a family of 4. I want some sort of apt or 2 room suite. Can't do a week with 4 of us in one room! Any help gratefully received

Ashers40 · 01/03/2016 15:44

I'm also on the hunt for accommodation in Cape Cod in the summer, preferably somewhere with a pool. I'm tying myself up in knots searching on the Internet, and I have no idea which town to stay in. Anyone going from NY to Cape Cod, are you planning to drive or fly?

Thethingswedoforlove · 02/03/2016 17:38

We are getting train from my to Boston then driving to cape cod

There are a few suggestions for cape cod accom up the thread. Wd you consider Airbnb as there were lots of nice options there when I looked

Getting close now everyone who booked PV for this summer! Maybe see you there!!

OP posts:
Bambambini · 17/07/2016 19:52

I'm still considering PV and we leave in 2 weeks! Not sure it would be too primative for the husband with no Aircon etc. Have a nicidh hotel with pool booked for chatham but it can be cancelled if i choose PV.

Thethingswedoforlove · 17/07/2016 20:09

Oooh well do post if you decide to go to Pv! Some things are really too tricky to think about!
