Connecting rooms in Canary Islands

Hi, we are a family of 4 with DS who will be 12 and DD almost 14. We would like the following:

One week AI end July or August

Canaries if possible
No more than 4k
A hotel with somewhere to go, like a nice beach to stroll on, a pretty town to visit, or marina within walking distance. We do like to leave the hotel now and then, and have found some places are in the middle of nowhere.
A couple of decent pools suitable for pre/teens.
But most importantly, either a two bedroom apartment, but must be two separate bedrooms or at least one, none of this 'sliding partition' nonsense, OR better still inter connecting rooms
The moon on a stick!

Any ideas!? The room thing is really important, now they are older, and must be AI. I do not cook on holiday.

Barcelona Jandia Mar in Fuerteventura. 4*. Been twice. 1st time got interconnecting rooms. 2nd time travel agent said they couldn't guarantee interconnecting but we insisted and got them. Might be best to book directly. Hotel is in a quiet area but just up a hill from a very long sandy beach with a wide promenade for walking, rollerblading and a short bus ride to a larger not too touristy town.

Oh and it's the cheapest hotel of that standard we've ever found.

Princesa yaiza in Lanzarote, interconnecting, beach, shops etc.
Design Holidays were great, wouldn't do through Thomson/sovereign as more expensive and difficult to choose your rooms .
