Holiday suggestions 8yr old and 9mth old!!

Does anybody have any suggestions as to what we could do for a holiday next year (July). We are 3 adults (75, 46, 40) and 2 children who will be 8 and 9mths by then. We'd like to go abroad but obviously with a wee one anywhere too hot probably isn't a good idea. We prefer self catering but need to find something to keep the older one happy but with something for the little one too. Any ideas?

Don't know about abroad, but I've looked up teletext holidays (online) and got a lovely s/c cottage in Yorkshire, converted farm steading with games room and pool on site which woiuld keep older kid amused.

I'd have thought something with these sorts of facilities would be good for you to keep the 8 year old out your hair.
