Travelling on Christmas eve morning so most people should be in a jovial mood hopefully. DD won't have her own seat though i'm hoping there may be a spare one on the day.

What are your top tips for keeping a very active, vocal and inquisitive toddler in hand please? Flight is about 2.5 hours.

Food. Lots of little bits she might not have on a regular basis as long as they arent too sugary. My Once eaten the empty pot and a spoon=musical instrument/pretend meal etc. DD likes to try and eat raisins wiht a spoon, or I tip a few out and she makes patterns.

Books. Nursery rhymes and song books go down best here, or ones with lots of things you can point out.

Cars and things with wheels to run across the tray/windows

Aquadraw mats, my SIL just bought some for my DD for Xmas, you just fill the pen thingy with water and in the set I have you get four small pictures to colour in. They are definitely going in my handluggage (am flying with her in a week) Or you can take a small notepad and some crayons/pens

There are lots of things like the safety cards and sick bag (as long as you are sure you wont need it yourself) that are fun to play with.

Lots of walks up the aisle and sometimes the airhostesses will have little toys and bits for small children...Swiss air gave DD a pink chewy toy and a cuddly aircraft last time we flew.

oh thanks for that. I know my sil is getting her the aquadraw for Christmas but we're seeing her this Sunday so hopefully it'll have the little ones in it. She loves all manner of fruit and raisins but that'll take about 5 mons . Given me some food for thought though, thanks

Stickers? She obv won't be peeling them off herself but might enjoy putting them on a sheet of paper. Wrap everything up so that getting it out of the paper provides some fun. Finger puppets so you can put on a little show together.

great idea that i'm sure she'd love - thanks
